Petroken Petroquimica Ensenada S.A. is a leading producer of polypropylene in Argentina and is 100% owned by Basell Polyolefins, the largest worldwide polypropylene and a major supplier of polyolefins, with sales in over 120 countries and owner of leading technology for the production of polypropylene and other polyolefins.
Petroken opened its polypropylene plant with a capacity of 100,000 tons / year in Ensenada, Buenos Aires, very well placed to supply major markets of Argentina and also to have an excellent export logistics. Petroken increased its capacity to 180,000 tons / year in 1999 and opened a compounding plant generation to supply the region with advanced poleolefinas (Current capacity: 20,000 tons / year).
Petroken's dedication to get a top quality product and careful attention to providing its customers have become one of the leading suppliers of industrial sector. Petroken has strong support from its shareholder Basell, who brings leading technology, catalysts and access to world markets. The supply of raw material to the plant Petroken is secured through long-term contracts with YPF SA, Shell CAPSA and major raw material suppliers in Argentina. Petroken plays a major role in the Mercosur and is the provider of choice for many other countries outside South America. The product portfolio includes widely used technologies Petroken: LIPP homopolymers and copolymers, and Spheripol Novolen as well polypropylene compounds and formulations Targor Montell (merged in Basell) and masterbatches Petroken own.
